Molly and me

This is a layout i did for a challenge but due to ill health didn't get around to posting it,I very very rarely do layouts with pictures of myself as i am usually the one behind a camera (my excuse lol) This was taken at a local park where  we take Molly for walks, you can see she was eager to get down we had just stopped her from chasing the squirrels .......they are in abundance at the park we go to i am trying to get pictures  and will soon........
I used My Minds Eye Ooh la la papers for the background and embellishments, pics are  matted on bazill cardstock, the rosettes are  made using a tim holtz die and i added some dots and used glossy accents on them.......the westie die is a pampered pet one i bought on ebay...... the quote i printed on cardstock and cut out my bigshot with a spellbinders die ..............i used glossy accents and glamour dust  on the title that i cut using my robo....think i covered it all thanks for looking

Thanks for looking
This is a layout I have done for a challenge on Lets Scrap,The layout is for my family heritage album I am making the subject is my Great Aunt and Godmother Vera, I am not sure when this photo was taken but looking at other photo's I have it is around the late 1920's early 30's she was my Nan's younger sister, this photo as you can see is a hand painted one that was done at that time before colour photography, I was around 3 years old when she emigrated to Auckland New Zealand, I saw her when i was  8 years old when my Great Grandad died and she still wore hats all the time I have not one pic of her without a hat, Every year until she died she sent me a birthday card and Xmas card in same envelope (as my birthday is 1st January) always wrote inside from your loving godmother.
Over the years we lost contact with the family from over there but with the Internet we have begun to search for relatives .....would love to know what happened to her daughters and family, to fill in the missing gaps in my book, as you can see i have hidden the journal tag again (bad handwriting ) and the single layout is because the opposite page I write the history and story of the person so my grandchildren have the history of my family.
The papers used are by Bo Bunny called Timepiece along with some bazzill card stock i used a woodware punch for border, the flowers cut out on my cricut, the brown bazzill  was stamped with scroll stamp with versamark, I added gold embossing powder and used my heat gun

Friday 3 August 2012

well almost a month since i posted anything but here goes ....We are going to a diamond wedding party tonight and i made this card for them.....60 years married how amazing is that.........
to make this card i used white hammered card and silver mirror card from the papermill, cut the frame, butterflies numbers and words from my robocraft ......the roses i made from Tim Holtz tattered flower die......on the numbers i used glossy accents  and covered with crystal gems from meiflower, also on the butterflies, i layered and used rangers stickles crystal ice glitter glue on the edges and on roses and frame..... i made a box to put the card in lined with pink tissue, i have decorated the lid and inside, but they have some personal mesages on so didnt add to pics hope you like

Washi Tape
I have seen several tutorials making this and thought would share to those who have'nt and put my step by step instructions i did this for some fellow crafters a few weeks ago then saw it again so decided to put on my blog..........this is what i used an ink pad , small stamps,  acrylic block you need a non stick mat or some non stick baking sheet (not greaseproof paper ) or you can use a clear plastic bag

This is the tape i used it comes in various sizes i also used some masking tape you can get from any DIY store in lots sizes, handy if you want to cover a project with washi tape and distress with inks

below is the tape stamped on a clear bag
this is the tape placed on some card you can also use this tape to make embellishments
I made this by using a card circle and gradually pleating the tape around in layers
i covered a button also with the tape and added some bakers twine
here is a closer look
There is loads tutorials how to do this ,hope you like my version
